Community, collaboration, cooperation…all things we love to encourage here at the Art Loft. To this end, we’d love to have you join us for our monthly Art Parties! Each month we will focus on a different craft, skill, or theme. Join us for our free January Art Party – Reviving Creativity!
Art therapist Melissa Kelly designed this class for three reasons: to inspire creativity, to encourage people to venture outside of their comfort zones and to support people in discovering what inspires them.
This is a class that is open to artists who are in need of some inspiration and non-artists who are interested in discovering that they are in fact creative beings. The class will use a variety of art mediums and techniques to find an image that moves you and watch as it transforms into something you had no idea you were capable of creating!
All materials will be provided.
About your instructor – Melissa Kelly
Melissa Kelly is an artist and therapist. She is fascinated by why people create the art they do and loves to inspire others to find their creative voice. Melissa is inspired by outsider art, artists who are considered provocative and raw, and people who do not follow social norms. She believes that to create your “masterpiece” you must be authentic and draw from your own life experiences.
Melissa studied fine arts at Maine College of Art and The School of The Museum of Fine Arts. She holds a Master of Science in Art Therapy and Counseling from The College of New Rochelle. Melissa has a private practice in Rockport where she provides therapy to children, adolescents, and adults.
