This class will cover:

  • Setting up a still life photo shoot
  • Using natural light
  • Making your own backdrops
  • The power of editing
  • Tapping into emotion
  • Creating a mood
  • Composition and color
  • Exploring you own personal style

Any type of camera can be used in this class, including your phone camera. A working knowledge of your own particular camera is helpful. Individualized instruction will be available during class.

About Karen

Karen Olson is a photographer, writer, and still life stylist. Her successful blog, Renuko Style, has been featured in the Stampington Publications national magazine, Artful Blogging. Her book, Photo Therapy: Exploring Emotion with Photography, was recently released on Kindle and iBooks. From 2014-2015 she wrote an engaging blog with an arts focus entitled, Coastal Collage, for Bangor Daily News. Her still life photography images have been featured on popular websites. Karen has been involved in the arts community on the coast for 20 years. Her work is currently available in several Maine galleries and online.
