In this set of classes the instructor will introduce the fundamental concepts of still life drawing and painting starting with simple objects to study value, form, volume and perspective, and then moving on to more complex still life objects and setups (flowers, drapery, etc). The instructor will do a brief lecture and demo at the start of each class time, and then the rest of the time will be for participants to practice using their observation skills to draw/paint a still life study. If you have always wanted to try drawing and/or oil painting, this is the perfect opportunity. No experience necessary; all levels welcome.
Materials, including oil paints and brushes will be available, however you are welcome to bring your own.
Come to 1 or all 4 classes. Drop-in classes; no registration required. Free for members; $20 drop-in for non-members.
