Jewelry Making – Metalwork – Cancelled

Learn the basics of metalwork with this workshop designed as an introduction to jewelry making. We will be making our own components from raw and reclaimed materials. Skills learned in this class will include wire forming, sawing, cutting sanding, and texturing. We will be making our own jump rings and earwires and create works with cold connections. This workshop is limited to 6 persons. The class is tailored to accommodate both beginners and those who already know some metalworking techniques.

A materials fee of $5 will be collected at the workshop. No experience is necessary but please along bring any tools or equipment you may already have.

Artist Bio:Karen Olson - The Art Loft

Artist and photographer, Karen Olson, has been active in the Midcoast community art scene for over 20 years. She enjoys teaching and encouraging all to find their creative voice, which is the topic of Karen’s successful blog, Renuko Style. Karen has been featured in the Stampington Publications national magazine, Artful Blogging and has published a book, ‘Photo Therapy: Exploring Emotion with Photography.’
Over the years she has enjoyed several artistic endeavors including jewelry making. Karen’s reclaimed metal jewelry can be found in several Maine galleries and in Arizona.
