While the gardens take a rest, keep your art growing despite the dark and chill outdoors. Take advantage of our open studio hours!
Need a warm, comfortable, well lit workspace for making art this winter? There are “open studio” hours mornings, afternoons, and evenings throughout the winter months. Come alone, or collect a small group and create your own “work parties.” Here’s a good place to continue your practice and perhaps meet some new friends, and on a very flexible schedule.
The Art Loft studio is well furnished with chairs, huge work tables, tabletop easels, natural and artificial light, a bathroom and a studio sink for clean-up. You can work independently on your own projects or collaborate with others. There is even a cushy sofa to enjoy during your time-outs. Just bring your own favorite art supplies, and you’re in business.
In addition to providing comfortable convenient workspace and furnishings, the studio could provide a way to collaborate with others, to inspire and be inspired, and gives you an opportunity to connect with other artists. As a member, this is your space; how you use it is up to you! Artists working in all visual art mediums are welcome and are encouraged to get involved.
You can drop in. No advance registration or payment required. Just come when you can and pay a very nominal amount to help cover overhead. (You can, however, save money if you buy a 10-pak of passes!) There is plenty of unlimited free parking at the rear entrance to the Thorndike Building. The Art Loft is the first door on the left.
