Create beautiful wire wrapped sea glass jewelry with Crystal Tripp. We will learn the art of Egyptian wire wrapping using your choice of brass or sterling silver wire. Crystal will share her prized collection of sea glass from Peaks Island. With a variety of colors to choose from you will be able to create a truly one of a kind art piece. Sea glass, Maine’s jewels of the sea, are quite valuable and can be combined with additional pearls, shells, or beads. You will be making a pair of earrings valued at $40. If you are quite proficient you might even have time to make an additional pair.
All materials and tools will be provided.
About Your Instructor – Crystal Tripp
Crystal Tripp has taught art at the elementary level as well as in a variety of art schools and senior centers. For the last 10 years or so she has helped others learn her craft by means of an apprentice program. She is proficient in all types of metalwork and jewelry making including high-end silver and gold art pieces. She has enjoyed selling her work at the local waterfront, art fairs, and boutiques. Crystal enjoys sharing her process and is so happy to see how it brings pleasure to others. She draws inspiration from her Native American heritage and is proud to be one among many makers of jewelry and art in her family.
