In this special edition Paint Night, we will be exploring the simplicity of the painting style sometimes called “Organic Abstract.” A style so conducive to calm absorption that you may enter a restorative “zen state.” Good for the mind, good for the spirit and always a good time.
Join us for a fun night of painting and socializing. Without the need for any painting experience what-so-ever you will be amazed at what you are capable of creating. In just two hours your canvas will transform before your very eyes.
Snacks will be provided during our leg stretching break and please feel free to bring your own snacks and/or beverage. The party starts at 6PM and to reserve your spot, please be sure to register in the box to the left. Drop-ins only accepted as space permits.
About Your Instructor – Beth McKinney
While Beth has always been an artist, a mid-life crisis sent her back to art school, and in 1994 she graduated from The Art Center in Albuquerque with a degree in Advertising Art. Expensive housing prompted her and her new husband to search for a more affordable, but still enriching, place to call home, and they moved to East Machias in 1999, and then moved to Rockland nine years ago, and love this town! In 2010 she won a logo design contest for the Rockland Main Street program and does much of their design work. She runs her free-lance graphic design business and also paints, from a room upstairs at her house where, she’ll tell you, if she stands on tip-toe at the window, she can see the ocean. She paints in acrylics on canvas but can also be seen painting on windows around town from the back of her trike, or nose to nose with a small child working a bit of magic with face paints.
