The goal of this class is for the student to understand and practice seeing and representing the figure using fundamental methods of drawing based on traditional drawing and observation principles. After a series of demos by the instructor, students begin with block in drawing, learning to see the figure as a whole and to clearly develop proper proportions and gesture in a linear way. Proper proportion, gesture, value, correct anatomy and an understanding of the relationship between large and small forms will be stressed throughout the course. We will be working with a live model each week.
This is a life drawing class in the traditional sense with a model. The model will not be clothed while the class is in session. Please be advised, students under 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Classes will be held every Saturday morning in September. A donation for the model would be appreciated.
This class is a drop-in class: free to members and $20 for non-members.
